Gloria Sachdev serves as President, CEO, and Board Chair of the Employers’ Forum of Indiana and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine. Currently her primary focus as President of the Forum is on hospital price and quality transparency, value-based health benefit & payment strategies, and health policy. She serves on several boards including the Board of Governors for the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchasers Coalition and Hoosiers for Affordable Healthcare. For fun, she takes her dog on long walks and plays board games with her 3 teenagers & husband.

What is the biggest thing you learned in 2020?

The biggest thing I learned in 2020 is that tying Healthcare to Employment is a disastrous idea as so many people became unemployed and lost their health insurance.

What do you feel are the two most important benefits or areas that need to be a top priority in 2021?

Reducing hospital and drug costs. Aligning payment of services with the quality of services provided.

Can you share a story on an area of your healthcare program or employee benefits where you were able to create significant savings or stop costs from rising?

If you could automatically receive a 10-20% reduction in costs in three areas/programs, what would your dream list be?

Healthcare for all senior care college tuition.

What is the most innovative program you will focus on in 2021 and/or 2022?

Creating a hospital value tool.

How are you re-imagining corporate culture & well-being?

Including team community service.

What virtual care solutions did you roll out during the pandemic? How valuable were they and why?

All meetings and conferences went remote. The Zoom virtual platform allowed our work to continue.
