Global Patient Services and Business Development for Latin America at Cleveland Clinic

Ivan Blanco serves as the Senior Director of Global Patient Services and Business Development for Latin America at Cleveland Clinic, based in Florida. In his role, Ivan oversees the flow of thousands of international patients a year to Cleveland Clinic Florida, which come from over 100 countries, while also managing Cleveland Clinic’s representatives in Latin America. He also works on evaluating and developing business opportunities in the Caribbean, Central America and South America. He joined the team in Florida in June 2016.

Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic Florida, Ivan served as the Senior Director (Head) of Corporate Communications & Marketing for Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi – the Middle East region’s first world-class multi-specialty hospital, specifically designed to address a range of Abu Dhabi’s most complex medical requirements. In his role at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Ivan oversaw internal communications, international and domestic recruitment marketing, corporate communications, advertising, public relations, digital, social media and supported employee engagement. He joined Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi in March 2012.

Prior to working at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, Ivan had gathered over 10 years of strategic planning and marketing communications experience in the healthcare industry at Pfizer. During his time there, Ivan progressed quickly, working across multiple brands in different therapeutic areas, including Cardiovascular and Men’s and Woman's Health, where he managed brands such as Lipitor, Champix, and Viagra. Here he gained experience in strategic planning, marketing and brand management for over a decade. He has had vast international experience, with responsibilities across Latin America, Africa and the Middle East, having lived in Mexico City, New York City and Dubai. He graduated from the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) in Mexico City with a B.S. in International Business.
