Jack Norton, MBA

Jack Norton is the Human Resources Manager for the Blue Lake Casino & Hotel and the Health Benefits Director for the Blue Lake Rancheria Health Plan. The self-insured Blue Lake Rancheria Health Plan began in August 2003. Mr. Norton is directly involved in plan design, benefit utilization, wellness programs and incentives, personal health records, and cost containment, including medical & dental travel. The medical travel option is continuing to evolve and has been an available option to plan members since January 2008.
He received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management and minor in Economics from San Jose State University before earning his MBA from Humboldt State University. He also received a PHR designation from the Society of Human Resources Management. While in college he earned All-American honors in the sport of wrestling and continues to coach and referee the sport today.

At last year’s congress, Jack was able to network with hospitals from around the world. In fact, partnered with a facility from France so that an employee could fly from California to receive treatment, saving the company roughly 35% of the costs it would have taken domestically.
