Michelle DiTondo is a Principal with Avion Consulting, a management consulting firm specializing in leadership, team, and organizational development. Michelle has over 25 years of experience in human resources leadership. Most recently, Michelle served nearly a decade as the Chief Human Resources Officer for MGM Resorts International, leading culture transformation and employee engagement initiatives for the company’s 88,000 employees worldwide. As a key member of the senior leadership team, Michelle worked in partnership with the C-Suite on a broad range of company-wide strategies in both talent and overall business improvement. She has been a trusted partner and advisor to the CEO, COO, and CMO in addition to various business unit presidents within MGM Resorts and credible executive to the company’s Board of Directors. Her passion is to enable leaders and organizations to build more inclusive and engaging places to work.

The importance of adaptability and innovation in both life and business.

What do you feel are the two most important benefits or areas that need to be a top priority in 2021?

The choice to work remotely or in-office. Some thrive at home while others have challenges. Flexibility and choice will be essential.

Can you share a story on an area of your healthcare program or employee benefits where you were able to create significant savings or stop costs from rising?

Spending money on preventative care leads to being able to manage increasing costs more effectively. Keeping people healthy should be the focus vs. managing their illnesses.

If you could automatically receive a 10-20% reduction in costs in three areas/programs, what would your dream list be?

Prescriptions, maternity care/neonatal.

What is the most innovative program you will focus on in 2021 and/or 2022?

Diversity and inclusion.
