Healthy is Hard, Equitable Health is Harder: What it Takes for Employers to Achieve Equitable and Inclusive Wellness Outcomes

Getting healthcare right is hard. Achieving equitable healthcare? Even harder! We now know that health outcomes and risks are largely behavioral: 4 modifiable behaviors lead to 4 major conditions that are responsible for 60% of deaths and 40% of disabilities worldwide, and a whopping 27% of US healthcare spending. So how do we create healthy behavior change at scale? And how do we ensure that the levers we use cut across demographics, psychographics, health risk profiles, income, and circumstance? How do we share negative health news in a way that resonates? What tools can we use to promote access that transcends individual barriers to care? This session will unpack these complex issues and provide the audience with tangible take-home insights on leveraging behavioral tools, technology, and incentives to get equitable healthcare right.

1 Conference. 3 Moonshots.

Remember the mission to reach the moon? In 1962, President JFK set forth a vision. He initiated a movement that outlived him! Even in his death, the mission was accomplished seven years after his famous speech. Now we’re on a five-year mission, and it's not about us. This is a mission for you – the individual, the stakeholder, the employer healthcare and benefits professional. Join the mission to reduce costs, reimagine culture, and reinvent care.
